Som Majhi is a licensed guide in the tourism industry, licensed by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal. At just 39 years old, Som has amassed 15 years of experience in the industry. He learned the tricks of the trade from his father, a seasoned trekking guide, at a young age. So it’s safe to say that adventure runs in his blood.
He has received training in skills like first aid, mountain climbing, and trekking safety, all essential to ensure your well-being throughout the journey. He is courageous, and reliable making him an ideal companion. He also speaks English, Hindi, Nepali, and other local languages such as Tamang and Majhi
He is a fun-loving person with an undying desire for adventure. Having come from a humble background in the nature-rich, Kavrepalanchowk district, Som is friendly and helpful. He perfectly embodies the Nepalese Spirit of “अतिथी देवो भव:” a belief that guests are equivalent to gods.
In addition to this, he is also a filmmaker and a documentarian. Trekking with him offersa unique perspective, allowing you to see the Himalayan landscapes through the eyes of a filmmaker.
