Chammar Singh Tamang

A Honest and Humble Trekking Guide
Chammar Singh Tamang

Chamar Singh Tamang has been a licensed trekking guide, certified by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, for over 14 years. Originally from Kavrepalanchowk, he grew up in a community devoted to tourism. His affinity for the tourism industry was greatly shaped by this very community surrounding him.

He has dedicated his time and effort to the industry for around 20 years, starting as a porter, a cook, and eventually a licensed guide. Throughout his extensive career, he has led travelers through almost all major trekking routes in Nepal from the remote Trans-Himalayan regions of Upper Dolpa, Shey Phoksundo, and Humla, to Jumla in the west, and popular trails like Everest and Annapurna Base Camp.

Chamar is known for his simplicity and honesty. Alongside his tourism career, Chamar has interests in agriculture and operates a poultry farm. He currently resides in Bhaktapur, and offers an insider's view of the city. He is also a member of the Tamang community, which shares deep cultural and traditional ties with the Sherpa community of the Himalayan region. Therefore, trekking with him allows you to understand the heart of the Himalayan traditions. He speaks clear and simple English, making communication easy for travelers. This, combined with his years of field experience, makes him an asset to our team.
